Acting
"HENRY VIII" Man, Monarch, Monster.
After a lifetime of being told I should play him, finally got to play the big man for BLAKEWAY/ MOTION CONTENT GROUP. Coming soon to Channel 5…
Most actors will talk about that inferiority feeling in the casting room – figuring out how the person sitting opposite you is better for the job somehow. They just look better. This was the first time in my life I went into casting and saw the other guy’s faces just drop…
"Cursed"
CURSED – NETFLIX
Season 1 Episode 4
Good old turn as a heavy border guard including the Monty Python helmet.
The costume’s on this were amazing – built the armor in Hales size – what a feat. Really strong show too. Glad to be a part of it.
"Endeavour"
Had the best time working on this for the multi-talented Shaun Evans, including sharing a couple of scenes with the legend Anton Lesser and wonderful, generous Carol Royle.
Saward, my character was a faith healer with some disciples, trying to help Bright’s terminally ill wife. Another one of those jobs that was a total joy, sharing the same episode as my friend, Reece Ritchie, and even more that people you admired a long time are even more generous, fun, and great to work with that you thought they could be.
I’m in Season seven, film one on ITV and PBS
"The Hustle"
Directed by Chris Addison, written by “Black Widow” scribe Jac Guymer and starring Rebel Wilson, Anne Hathaway, Dean Norris, Yep. The kind of job you dream of, even before they tell you it’s three weeks in Mallorca and a palatial hotel. A truly great experience, playing a Georgian “Mark” conned by Rebel. I even got to work with one of the world’s best vocal coaches, Joan Washington. And drive a Gold Alpha Spyder.
"Death Race: Beyond Anarchy"
You know, I’ve been lucky enough to play some proper heavyweight characters from Lear, Macbeth, Leontes, Hamlet, HotspurBuddy Ackerman and Nelson in Rat in the Skull BUT, never have I had a character with such a great name as my guy in Death Race 4 – the role of “NOT FUCKING AROUND GUARD” – it was a cracking part with a three-page monologue and such fun to do – a great shoot with Director Don Michael Paul in Bulgaria was a real treat before coming back to Little Shop at the Seagull. I can’t give spoilers or set pics until after so, for now, it’s me in Bulgaria xxx
DR WHO. Episode 6,Season 9
"The Woman Who Lived"
Yep, envy of so many people I know, I booked the part of the HANGMAN in Dr. Who, ep 6 season 9, a fantastic episode which meant I also got to work with the supertalented Maisie Williams, Rufus Hound and of course Peter Capaldi. What a lineup and I had the best time filming for four days in Cardiff. Peter was everything you’d hope he would be and it was a total privilege to work on. It also meant my first acting FAN MAIL!
It’s easy to forget how supported you are and how people see it – here’s just a few of the pics I was sent by friends of the episode and them watching it!
"The Winter's Tale"
“I am yours forever.” Leontes A1, Sc 2
Having played the same servant twice (!) in Shakespeare’s THE WINTER’S TALE, I was delighted to get the role of LEONTES, the King who runs mad and destroys everything around him in the production from FOOLHARDY ACTORS, Directed by Thom Bailey. I’m currently writing up a diary of the production and the challenges of the part but here are some shots from the production that was a show I’ll never forget for its vibrance, emotion, and camaraderie, and a play that is rightly getting recognition again.
"Perfect Peace"
I was cast in this short for the lovely Writer and Director Shirley Day and spent three fun days shooting in the beautiful Brecks woods. And driving a LandRover…
